1813 Capped Bust Half Dollar in Good to Very Good Condition

The Capped Bust Half Dollar refers to a design series of U.S. half dollars that were minted from 1807 to 1839. The Capped Bust Half Dollar features a design by John Reich. The obverse (front) of the coin depicts Liberty with a Phrygian cap, facing left. The reverse (back) features an eagle with a shield on its breast.

1813 Capped Bust Half Dollar G/VG

Capped Bust Half Dollars minted from 1807 to 1836 were composed of 89.24% silver and 10.76% copper. Those minted from 1836 to 1839 had a modified design and a slightly different composition, with 90% silver and 10% copper. Characteristics of grades may include a worn but readable date, some loss of detail in Liberty's cap, and noticeable wear on the eagle's breast feathers.
